Mass Advanced Privacy Enabler for WhatsApp™ Web
A simple browser extension that helps you enable the Advanced Chat Privacy setting across your chats on WhatsApp™ Web. So that Meta AI is disabled for each chat. 🛡️
Without AI OffSwitch you will have to enable Advanced Chat Privacy manually for each chat to disable Meta AI for that chat:
Beta limitation: currently supports only the first ~15–20 chats. Scrolling the chat list is not supported yet.
What it does ⚙️
- Finds your chats and opens each one safely
- Navigates to Contact Info → Advanced Chat Privacy
- Enables privacy when it’s off (never disables)
- Optional: sends a notification message (configurable)
- Keeps unread chats unread after processing
How it works 🛠️
The extension runs entirely in your browser on web.whatsapp.com using stable attributes
(like aria-label and data-icon) to reliably navigate the UI.
We do not collect any data from the extension. All actions happen locally.

Why it’s useful 🤔
Recent coverage has highlighted concerns around the introduction of Meta AI inside WhatsApp™ and the lack of an obvious way to fully opt out. Turning on Advanced Chat Privacy per chat disables mentioning Meta AI in those chats. It also:
- Prevents exporting an entire chat history in one go
- Stops auto-downloading media from that chat
- Reduces exposure of online/typing/read indicators
The catch: this privacy setting is per chat and takes time to toggle manually. AI OffSwitch automates it in batches—saving you time while keeping everything local to your browser.

No. All actions happen locally in your browser. We do not store or transmit your chat data.
Is this safe to use?
